A ready-to-use spray sealant from Dr. Wack for every exterior surface — paint, glass, exterior plastics, coated wheels and tyres all get the same protective film in one pass, with instant beading. Not for the interior, not for hot paint in direct sun, and no substitute for a polish.

A1 ALL in ONE Care & Protect is a multi-surface spray sealant from Dr. Wack that leaves the same protective film on every exterior surface of a car. The film forms as you spread it and is done the moment you buff it off. There's no flash time where the product has to react first. That's exactly why you work in sections and take each one off straight away.

After the wash you're looking at five materials, and normally each one has its own bottle: paint care, plastic care, wheel sealant, tyre dressing, glass sealant. The car dries faster than you can open five bottles, so trim and wheels get skipped time and again. That's the gap A1 ALL in ONE Care & Protect fills — launched in March 2026 by Dr. O.K. Wack Chemie from Baar-Ebenhausen.

Five materials, one pass. Paint, glass, exterior plastics, coated wheels and tyres all get the same film. It's approved for metallic, solid, matte and nano paints, for scratch-resistant clear coats and for gloss wrap — so also for the surfaces where you'd normally check the label twice before you spray.

No flash time, no waiting. Spray on, spread with the cloth, take the residue off straight away with the clean side: that's what the product information sheet says, literally "without waiting time". The only time figure Dr. Wack gives comes afterwards — keep it away from water for at least 60 minutes so the long-term effect can set.

Works on wet paint. You carry on while drying instead of waiting until the car is bone dry. Two sizes cover it: 500 ml with a trigger sprayer for washing at home, 100 ml for the boot, for when a bird dropping or a load of bugs has to go while you're out.

Day-to-day from Detailing1: We often see "can also be used on wet surfaces" read as a licence to work just before the rain. Applying it wet is fine: you spray onto the damp panel while drying, not onto one that's dripping. The fresh film still mustn't get wet afterwards. Dr. Wack's product information sheet recommends keeping the paint away from water for at least 60 minutes. Drive straight into a downpour and you'll see beading — and you've thrown away the long-term effect.

No flash time. The ALL in ONE comes off straight away.

Mist it thinly onto one section, spread it evenly with a microfibre cloth and take the residue off straight away with the dry side.

A section means half a bonnet, a door, a wing — never the whole side of the car. The film forms while you spread, not while you wait. If the product dries on first, you get streaks instead of protection. Dr. Wack keeps the fix simple: re-spray the dried patch, spread, wipe off. The mistake is reversible and only costs you time.

The cloth makes or breaks the result. For on and off, Dr. Wack recommends the premium microfibre cloth from its own range, 40 x 40 cm. Fold it twice and you've got eight clean faces. As soon as one starts to smear, flip to the next instead of pressing harder. Pressure doesn't polish streaks away — it spreads them.

On glass and wheels the routine stays the same, just with a lighter hand. A side window needs less product than a door and a drier cloth to buff, otherwise you'll see wipe marks against the light. On the wheel, work between the spokes from the inside out so the film doesn't end up on the tyre before the rim is done.

On wet paint you work it into the drying pass: dry towel over the panel first, then spray, then spread. The car should be damp, not dripping. After the last pass, turn the nozzle back to stop. That's the leak lock, and the reason the 100 ml bottle doesn't make a mess of your boot.

From what we see day-to-day, a mid-size car takes about 15 minutes, wheels included. The first time takes longer while you find your rhythm of sections. That's normal: after two or three goes you know how little a door really needs.

The ALL in ONE protects. It won't polish out swirls.

Care & Protect is a care and protection layer with no abrasives. It sits on top of the paint instead of cutting material away like a polish.

Over swirls and holograms the surface gets slicker and the gloss deeper, but the fine wash marring stays in the clear coat. Nor does the film replace decontamination. Spray it over embedded iron fallout and you seal the particles in. If the paint still feels gritty after the wash, hit it with an iron remover first.

The second honest limit is a gap in the data sheet: Dr. Wack gives no durability in months for this product. That's consistent. A layer that goes on in seconds and comes straight off again is a maintenance layer between washes, not a coating that lasts a season. Make it a fixed part of every wash, not a date in the calendar.

Read the product claims closely: Dr. Wack only promises the "noticeably slick surface" for paint, glass and wheels. Tyres and exterior plastics aren't in that sentence. They're approved and get protection, but that doesn't make Care & Protect a jet-black tyre dressing.

The film works well on glass, but we still leave the windscreen out. Fresh hydrophobic layers and wiper blades don't get on for the first few days, and the chatter is more annoying than the beading is useful. Side windows, rear screen and mirrors, on the other hand, are exactly where the effort shows straight away.

Don't use it in direct sun or on hot paint — the film dries faster than you can take it off. It's not meant for the interior either; the range has its own product for that. If you want to lock in every wash in one pass, Care & Protect is the right call. If you want a whole season of protection on the paint, go for a ceramic spray sealant.

Care & Protect replaces four bottles, not a coating.

It pays off if you wash your own car regularly and don't want to open four more bottles afterwards just to get it finished.

It makes less sense if your paint already carries a multi-year ceramic coating whose maker wants it looked after with its own maintenance product. And on a car that rolls through the brush wash twice a year, what's missing first is a proper wash, not a protective layer. Beading on unwashed paint is still beading on unwashed paint.

Dr. Wack keeps the sizes clearly apart. The 500 ml bottle with trigger sprayer is the home version; A1 "ALL in ONE" Care & Protect also comes as a 100 ml spray bottle. The small one doesn't belong on the shelf but in the boot — for the bird dropping in the car park and the bug splatter after a country road.

What speaks for the brand is predictability. Dr. Wack has been making car care since 1975 and rarely changes formulas — what you buy today, you'll rebuy in three years with the same result. For a product you pick up after every wash, that's worth more than any test score: you build a routine that won't behave differently with the next bottle.

It slots in after the wash and before you pack up: wash, squeegee, seal while drying. With no flash time in between, it adds minutes to your Sunday, not half an hour. And that's exactly why the trim gets done this time too.

The point no manufacturer writes down isn't about the product but the concept: one product for five materials tempts you to use one cloth for five materials too. Wheels and tyre sidewalls carry brake dust and loose grit, and that travels through the fibres onto the clear coat. That's how you put swirls in while sealing. Work in the order paint, glass, plastics, wheels, tyres, and give the wheels their own cloth. From what we see day-to-day, that's the difference between a slick finish and a finely marred one.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0800/3272/7375/files/dr-wack-a1-all-in-one-care-und-protect-spruehversiegelung.png?v=1787867088
