Es ist leicht und direkt, läuft auf Exzenter und Rotation und kommt mit seiner trapezförmigen Kante gut an Konturen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDas Allrounder Pad hat zusätzlich eine Layer-Rubber-Foam-Basis, also eine Gummi-Zwischenschicht zwischen Klett und Schaum. Die stabilisiert die Auflage, hält die Fläche eben und macht das Pad gutmütiger auf großen Flächen. Beide Formen gibt es in allen fünf Härten und in den Größen Ø 50, 70, 90, 140 und 165 Millimeter.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eMini und Cone sind die Detailpads. Das Mini Pad ist flach, kommt im 10er-Pack in Ø 15 und 25 Millimeter und sitzt auf einem Mini-Polierer für enge ebene Spots wie Spiegeldreiecke, Türgriffmulden oder Schweller. Das Cone Pad läuft konisch auf Ø 30 mal 40 Millimeter zu, und seine Spitze erreicht Sicken, Lufteinlässe und Emblem-Ränder, an die ein flaches Pad nicht kommt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDas Cone Pad hat zwei Eigenheiten: Es ist nur für Rotation gedacht, weil es an seiner kleinen Spitze gezielt Druck aufbaut, und es gibt es nur in drei Härten (Rot, Orange, Gelb) statt in fünf. Das Mini Pad dagegen läuft auf Exzenter und Rotation und ist in allen fünf Härten erhältlich.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDie Bauform folgt also der Aufgabe, nicht dem Geschmack. Große Flächen wie Haube oder Dach gehen mit Trapez oder Allrounder ab Ø 50 Millimeter deutlich schneller. Enge Radien erreichst du nur mit Mini oder Cone. Das Nano Wool Pad ist reine Wolle für die Schwerkorrektur, maximaler Cut bei tiefen Defekten. Das Hybrid Pad mischt Natur- und Synthetikwolle und finisht durch die Lammwoll-Oberfläche deutlich feiner als ein reines Wollpad, oft schon One-Step-tauglich. Wolle läuft dabei kühler als geschlossenzelliger Schaum und leitet bis zu 80 Prozent der Reibungswärme ab. Beide laufen auf Exzenter und Rotation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDas Mikrofaserpad trägt tausende kurze Fasern auf dem Schaumkern. Die schneiden schneller als ein Schaumpad gleicher Aggressivität und hinterlassen zugleich ein feineres Schliffbild, was es zum Allrounder für die One-Step-Politur auf harten Klarlacken macht. Der Preis dafür: Es setzt sich schneller zu und will öfter ausgeklopft und ausgewaschen werden. Das Velourspad steht am anderen Ende. Sein dichtes, kurzfloriges Florgewebe trägt kaum ab und ist die reine Finish-Stufe, ideal auch zum streifenfreien Auftragen von flüssigen Wachsen und Versiegelungen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDie Faustregel über alle Materialien: maximaler Abtrag über Wolle, effizienter One-Step über Mikrofaser oder Medium-Schaum, reines Finish über Velours oder weichen Schaum. Ein Material, eine Aufgabe, alle mit dem gleichen Klett-Rücken für gängige Stützteller.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch3\u003eDie Pad-Größe hängt an Fläche und Stützteller\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eSteht die Härte, wählst du die Größe nach der zu polierenden Fläche und nach deinem Stützteller. Beide Werte gehören zusammen, sonst überhitzt die Pad-Kante.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDie Flächenpads Trapez und Allrounder gibt es in fünf Durchmessern von Ø 50 bis 165 Millimeter, jeweils 20 Millimeter dick. Die großen Ø 140 und 165 Millimeter sind für Hauben, Türen und Dächer gedacht, wo du in wenigen Bahnen viel Fläche schaffst. Die kleinen Ø 50, 70 und 90 Millimeter passen an Stoßstangen, Spiegel und in engere Radien.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDarunter beginnt der Detailbereich. Das Mini Pad (Ø 15 und 25 Millimeter) und das Cone Pad (Ø 30 mal 40 Millimeter) übernehmen die Stellen, die ein Flächenpad nicht erreicht. Wer ein Auto komplett selbst poliert, kommt mit zwei bis drei Größen pro Aufgabe aus, ohne jede Variante zu besitzen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eDer entscheidende Praxispunkt ist der Stützteller. Die Backing Plate muss kleiner sein als der Pad-Durchmesser, sonst steht der Tellerrand über und reibt direkt auf dem Lack, mit Überhitzung und Kantenkontakt als Folge. Als grobe Regel liegt der Teller etwa 10 bis 15 Millimeter unter dem Pad-Maß. Ein Ø-160-mm-Pad läuft auf einem 150er Teller, ein Ø-40-mm-Pad auf einem 35er.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eWas wir bei Detailing1 immer wieder beobachten: Viele kaufen nur die großen Pads und ärgern sich dann an jeder Stoßstangenkante. Eine sinnvolle Grundausstattung deckt mindestens zwei Größen ab, ein Flächenpad um Ø 130 bis 140 Millimeter und ein kleines um Ø 50 bis 70 Millimeter. Diese Standzeit tritt aber nur ein, wenn das Pad sauber bleibt. Reinigen während der Arbeit, nicht erst am Ende, ist dabei der entscheidende Hebel.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eBei der Reinigung gilt eine klare Grenze: Polierstaub klopfst du regelmäßig aus, gewaschen wird lauwarm und vor allem luftgetrocknet. Heiße Trocknung mag der Thermo-Schaum nicht, und auch Wolle und Mikrofaser brauchen vollständiges Durchtrocknen, sonst verfilzt oder schimmelt die Faser. Die Klett-Schicht ist die Sollbruchstelle, und mit Gewalt löst du eher den Klett vom Schaum als das Pad vom Teller. Lass das Pad antrocknen oder feuchte den Klett kurz an, dann trennt es sich sauber. Das ist der Mehrstufen-Weg für echte Korrektur. Lass das Gewicht der Maschine arbeiten und führe nur. Genauso wichtig ist das Reinigen während der Arbeit. An einer verkratzten schwarzen Motorhaube setzte sich unser Pad nach zwei Bahnen mit Polierstaub zu und schmierte nur noch, bis wir es ausgeklopft hatten.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003c\/blockquote\u003e\n\u003chr\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eKlett aufsetzen Politur dünn auftragen mit Druck führen\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDas Ultra Hard drückst du mittig auf den Klett-Stützteller, gibst eine kleine Menge Schleifpolitur auf, verteilst sie bei niedriger Drehzahl und arbeitest sie dann mit mittlerem Druck aus.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTrage die Politur erbsengroß bis haselnussgroß auf und tupfe sie bei stehender Maschine auf die Fläche, damit nichts wegspritzt. Verteile sie bei etwa 1.000 Umdrehungen und steigere dann auf bis zu 1.800 Umdrehungen, bis der Polierfilm klar wird.
