What is COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Chrysler? — The perfectly matched standard leather colour allows for factory-correct colour refreshing and repairs on Chrysler leather, ensuring a consistently even, factory-typical finish.
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Chrysler) is a precisely matched standard leather colour for the professional repair, refreshing, and recolouring of Chrysler leather interiors. The colours are based on original Chrysler colour samples and are formulated to blend harmoniously with existing surfaces. Ideal for seat bolsters, steering wheels, armrests, door panels, and all pigmented smooth leather in the vehicle interior where colour accuracy and OEM appearance are crucial.
💡 Practical tip from Detailing1 Workshop: In our workshop, we often see the same problem with Chrysler refurbishments — colour loss on seat bolsters and steering wheels is covered up with cheap care spray that doesn't last four weeks. With Leather Colour (Chrysler) dabbed onto a microfiber pad in 2–3 thin layers, with 30 minutes drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat Dull — the result lasts 2–3 years, just like from the factory.
Leather Colour (Chrysler) is applied in 2–3 thin layers, with 30 minutes drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat. Thin layers last for years; thick layers crack.
Before applying the colour, the leather is cleaned with Leather Cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or cleaning alcohol. Deep cracks and scuff marks are levelled with Filler or Super Filler and smoothed with 1000-grit sanding fleece. The Chrysler colour tones are then dabbed on with a microfiber pad, wiped smooth with a soft brush, or, for larger repairs, applied with a spray bottle.
After complete drying for at least 4 hours, seal with Top Coat — Dull for a matte, original OEM look, Glossy for medium shine, High Gloss for maximum brilliance. One litre of Leather Colour covers approximately 8–10 m² of leather surface; a 250-ml bottle is sufficient for a complete pair of seats including the steering wheel. The same workflow works for all components, from the seat cushion to the door panel and centre armrest.
Leather Colour (Chrysler) is exclusively suitable for pigmented smooth leather — the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require other COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formulation bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leather, remains elastic, and follows leather movements without cracking. With natural leather or open-pored aniline leather, the colour penetrates the fibres unevenly and stains the leather blotchy — here, Leather Fresh (Chrysler) is used as a care variant or special aniline lines. Suede, velour, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Chrysler), which preserves the rough fibre structure instead of sticking it together.
If colour accuracy to the original factory colour is crucial and the component is to be extensively restored, Leather Colour is the right choice. If only a small area (steering wheel scuff, single crack) needs to be repaired, Fluid Leather (Chrysler) in the 20-ml tube is more economical and precise. If the leather only appears slightly faded, Leather Fresh as a care variant is usually sufficient.
Leather Colour (Chrysler) is the professional choice for detailers, independent workshops, and ambitious owners who prioritize value retention and original Chrysler colour accuracy over quick care solutions.
For lease returns, used vehicle reconditioning, and classic and youngtimer restorations, OEM colour accuracy determines value retention and selling price. The professional 4-step workflow (clean, sand, colour, seal) takes 4 hours including drying per component and delivers a result that lasts 2–3 years, just like from the factory. One litre of Leather Colour costs approximately 30 cents per 100 ml of processed area — workshop calculation including Top Coat is about 12 Euros per component.
For pure care routines without workshop tools, Leather Colour is overkill — there, Leather Fresh (Chrysler) is sufficient. For spot repairs on the steering wheel or individual cracks, Fluid Leather or the Leather Care Sets (Chrysler) are more economical. However, anyone who wants to restore complete seat bolsters, steering wheels, or door panels and values original Chrysler colour accuracy cannot do without the 1-litre bottle or the 250-ml container.
Chrysler Cedar Red, Chrysler Dark Slate Grey, Chrysler Medium Slate Grey, Chrysler Vanilla, Chrysler Black, Chrysler Saddle Light Brown, Chrysler Landscape, Chrysler Dark Frost Beige, Chrysler Caprice Black (Jeep 1), Chrysler Saddle (Light Brown) 2-Ton, Chrysler Light Brown (Saddle) 2-Ton
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Chrysler) is a water-based, elastic standard leather dye in original Chrysler colours. It is used for repairing, refreshing, or recolouring pigmented smooth leather in vehicle interiors — seats, steering wheels, armrests, door panels.
First, thoroughly clean and degrease the leather. Fill and sand any damage with filler. Then, dab, wipe, or spray on thin layers of Leather Colour — 2-3 thin coats are better than one thick one. After complete drying, seal with Top Coat (Dull/Glossy/High Gloss).
Leather Colour is the professional repair dye (1L/250ml, sealable with Top Coat). Leather Fresh is the conditioning colour cream (1L/100ml) for lighter refreshes without extensive preparation. For deep abrasions → Leather Colour; for dull surfaces → Leather Fresh.
The colour shades are based on original Chrysler factory colour samples. For heavily faded leather, we still recommend a colour test in an inconspicuous area, as the original leather darkens or fades over the years.
Three classics: (1) Leather not degreased beforehand — paint does not adhere. (2) Too thick a layer applied — cracks when drying. (3) Top coat sealing omitted — abrasion resistance less than 6 months. With proper preparation, the result lasts 2-3 years.
Yes, for lasting abrasion resistance. Without Top Coat, the colour on seat bolsters and steering wheels will rub off again within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull = matt original (OEM-Look), Glossy = medium gloss, High Gloss = high gloss.
