First, degrease the leather with leather cleaner and let it dry. Fill in any damage with filler, then smooth with 1000-grit sanding fleece. Dab or spray Leather Colour (Ferrari) in 2–3 thin layers, allowing 30 minutes drying time between layers. After 4 hours, seal with Top Coat Dull, Glossy, or High Gloss. COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Ferrari) is a precisely matched standard leather color for professional repair, refresh, and recoloring of Ferrari leather interiors. The colors are based on original Ferrari color samples and are formulated to blend harmoniously with existing surfaces. Ideal for seat bolsters, steering wheels, armrests, door panels, and all pigmented smooth leather in the vehicle interior where color fidelity and OEM appearance are crucial.

💡 Detailing1-Workshop Practical Tip: In our workshop, we often see the same problem with Ferrari detailing — color loss on seat bolsters and steering wheels is covered with cheap care spray that doesn't last four weeks. With Leather Colour (Ferrari) dabbed on with a microfiber pad in 2–3 thin layers, dried for 30 minutes in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat Dull — the result lasts 2–3 years like new from the factory.


Prepare, dab on thinly, seal with Top Coat

Leather Colour (Ferrari) is applied in 2–3 thin layers, dried for 30 minutes in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat. Thin layers last for years, thick layers crack.

Before applying the color, the leather is washed with leather cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or cleaning alcohol. Deep cracks and abrasion marks are smoothed out with Filler or Super Filler and sanded smooth with 1000-grit sanding fleece. The Ferrari colors are then dabbed on with a microfiber pad, wiped with a soft brush, or, for large-area repairs, applied with a spray bottle.

After complete drying for at least 4 hours, it is sealed with Top Coat — Dull for a matte-original OEM look, Glossy for medium shine, High Gloss for maximum brilliance. One liter of Leather Colour covers approximately 8–10 m² of leather surface; a 250 ml bottle is sufficient for a complete pair of seats including the steering wheel. The same workflow works for all components from the seat cushion to the door panel to the center armrest.

Pigmented leather yes, natural leather and suede no

Leather Colour (Ferrari) is exclusively suitable for pigmented smooth leather — the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require other COLOURLOCK product lines.

The water-based formulation bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leather, remains elastic, and accommodates leather movements without cracking. With natural leather or open-pore aniline leather, the color penetrates unevenly into the fibers and discolors the leather blotchily — here, Leather Fresh (Ferrari) as a care variant or special aniline lines are used. Suede, velour, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Ferrari), which preserves the rough fiber structure instead of gluing it down.

If color fidelity to the original factory color is crucial and the component is to be extensively restored, Leather Colour is the right choice. If only a small area (steering wheel abrasion, a single crack) needs to be repaired, Fluid Leather (Ferrari) in the 20 ml tube is more economical and precise. If the leather only appears slightly faded, Leather Fresh as a care variant is usually sufficient.

COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Ferrari) is a water-based, elastic standard leather dye in original Ferrari colours. It is used for repairing, refreshing or recolouring pigmented smooth leather in vehicle interiors - seats, steering wheels, armrests, door panels.

How do I apply Leather Colour (Ferrari) correctly?

First, thoroughly clean and degrease the leather. Fill and sand any damage with Filler. Then dab, wipe or spray thin coats of Leather Colour - 2-3 thin coats are better than one thick one. After complete drying, seal with Top Coat (Dull/Glossy/High Gloss).

What is the difference to Leather Fresh?

Leather Colour is the professional repair dye (1L/250ml, sealable with Top Coat). Leather Fresh is the conditioning colour cream (1L/100ml) for lighter refreshings without extensive preparation. For deep abrasion → Leather Colour; for dull surfaces → Leather Fresh.

Do the colours really match Ferrari exactly?

Do I absolutely need a Top Coat?

Yes, for durable abrasion resistance. Without Top Coat, the colour on seat bolsters and steering wheels will wear off again within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull = matt-original (OEM-look), Glossy = medium gloss, High Gloss = high gloss.
