What is COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Mitsubishi? — The perfectly matched standard leather colour enables faithful colour refreshes and repairs on Mitsubishi leather, ensuring a consistently even, factory-typical finish.
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Mitsubishi) is a precisely matched standard leather colour for professional repair, refreshing, and recolouring of Mitsubishi leather interiors. The colours are based on original Mitsubishi colour samples and are formulated to blend harmoniously with existing surfaces. Ideal for seat bolsters, steering wheels, armrests, door panels, and all pigmented smooth leather in the vehicle interior where colour accuracy and an OEM look are crucial.
💡 Detailing1 Workshop Tip: In our workshop, we frequently see the same problem with Mitsubishi detailing — colour loss on seat bolsters and steering wheels is covered up with cheap care spray, which doesn't last four weeks. With Leather Colour (Mitsubishi) dabbed onto a microfibre pad in 2-3 thin layers, with 30 mins drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat Dull — the result lasts 2-3 years, like new.
Leather Colour (Mitsubishi) is applied in 2-3 thin layers, with 30 minutes drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat. Thin layers last for years; thick layers crack.
Before applying the colour, the leather is cleaned with leather cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Deep cracks and scuff marks are filled with Filler or Super Filler and smoothed with 1000-grit sanding fleece. The Mitsubishi colour tones are then dabbed on with a microfibre pad, wiped with a soft brush, or, for larger repairs, applied with a spray bottle.
After a complete drying time of at least 4 hours, seal with Top Coat — Dull for a matte, original OEM look, Glossy for medium shine, High Gloss for maximum brilliance. One litre of Leather Colour covers approximately 8–10 m² of leather surface; a 250 ml bottle is sufficient for a complete pair of seats including the steering wheel. The same workflow applies to all components, from seat cushions to door panels and the centre armrest.
Leather Colour (Mitsubishi) is exclusively suitable for pigmented smooth leather — the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require other COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formulation bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leathers, remains elastic, and accommodates leather movements without cracking. On natural leather or open-pore aniline leather, the colour penetrates unevenly into the fibres and stains the leather — in these cases, Leather Fresh (Mitsubishi) as a care variant or special aniline lines are used. Suede, velour, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Mitsubishi), which preserves the rough fibre structure instead of sticking it together.
If colour accuracy to the original factory colour is crucial and the component needs extensive restoration, Leather Colour is the right choice. If only a small area (steering wheel scuffs, a single crack) needs repair, Fluid Leather (Mitsubishi) in the 20 ml tube is more economical and precise. If the leather only appears slightly faded, Leather Fresh as a care variant is usually sufficient.
Leather Colour (Mitsubishi) is the professional choice for detailers, independent workshops, and ambitious owners who prioritise value retention and original Mitsubishi colour accuracy over quick care solutions.
For leased vehicle returns, used car detailing, and classic and youngtimer restorations, OEM colour accuracy determines value retention and resale price. The professional 4-step workflow (clean, sand, colour, seal) takes 4 hours including drying per component and delivers a result that lasts 2-3 years, like new. One litre of Leather Colour costs approximately 30 cents per 100 ml of applied area — workshop calculation including Top Coat is around 12 Euros per component.
For pure maintenance routines without workshop tools, Leather Colour is overkill — Leather Fresh (Mitsubishi) is sufficient there. For spot repairs on the steering wheel or individual cracks, Fluid Leather or the Leather Care Sets (Mitsubishi) are more economical. However, if you want to restore complete seat bolsters, steering wheels, or door panels and value original Mitsubishi colour accuracy, you can't go wrong with the 1-litre bottle or the 250 ml container.
Mitsubishi 03H Medium Brown Tone
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Mitsubishi) is a water-based, elastic standard leather dye in original Mitsubishi shades. It is used for repairing, refreshing, or recolouring pigmented smooth leather in vehicle interiors — seats, steering wheels, armrests, door panels.
First, thoroughly clean and degrease the leather. Fill and sand any damage with Filler. Then, dab, wipe, or spray on Leather Colour thinly — 2-3 thin layers are better than one thick one. After complete drying, seal with Top Coat (Dull/Glossy/High Gloss).
Leather Colour is the professional repair dye (1L/250ml, can be sealed with Top Coat). Leather Fresh is the conditioning colour cream (1L/100ml) for lighter refreshes without extensive preparation. For deep abrasions → Leather Colour; for dull surfaces → Leather Fresh.
The colour shades are based on original Mitsubishi factory colour samples. For heavily faded leathers, we still recommend a colour test in an inconspicuous area, as the original leather darkens or fades over years.
Three classics: (1) Leather not degreased beforehand — paint won't adhere. (2) Too thick a layer applied — cracks during drying. (3) Top Coat sealing omitted — abrasion resistance less than 6 months. With proper preparation, the result lasts 2–3 years.
Yes, for durable abrasion resistance. Without Top Coat, the colour on seat bolsters and steering wheels will wear off again within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull = matte-original (OEM-look), Glossy = medium gloss, High Gloss = high gloss.
