What is COLOURLOCK Leather Colour for Toyota? — The precisely matched standard leather colour enables original colour refreshes and repairs on Toyota leather, ensuring a consistently uniform, factory-like finish.
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Toyota) is an exactly matched standard leather colour for the professional repair, refreshing, and recolouring of Toyota leather interiors. The colours are based on original Toyota colour samples and are formulated to blend harmoniously with existing surfaces. Ideal for seat bolsters, steering wheels, armrests, door panels, and all pigmented smooth leather in the vehicle interior where colour accuracy and OEM appearance are crucial.
💡 Detailing1-Workshop Practical Tip: In our workshop, we frequently encounter the same problem with Toyota detailing — colour loss on seat bolsters and steering wheels is covered up with cheap care sprays that don't last four weeks. With Leather Colour (Toyota) dabbed on with a microfibre pad in 2–3 thin layers, with 30 minutes drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat Dull — the result lasts 2–3 years like new from the factory.
Leather Colour (Toyota) is applied in 2–3 thin layers, with 30 minutes drying time in between, and finally sealed with Top Coat. Thin layers last for years; thick layers crack.
Before applying the colour, the leather is washed with leather cleaner and degreased with Plastic Cleaner or rubbing alcohol. Deep cracks and abrasion marks are smoothed out with Filler or Super Filler and sanded with 1000-grit sanding fleece. The Toyota colour tones are then dabbed on with a microfibre pad, wiped with a soft brush, or, for large-area repairs, applied with a spray bottle.
After complete drying for at least 4 hours, seal with Top Coat — Dull for a matte original OEM look, Glossy for medium shine, High Gloss for maximum brilliance. One litre of Leather Colour covers approximately 8–10 m² of leather surface; a 250 ml bottle is sufficient for a complete pair of seats including the steering wheel. The same workflow applies to all components from the seat cushion to the door panel and centre armrest.
Leather Colour (Toyota) is suitable only for pigmented smooth leather — the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require other COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formulation binds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leather, remains elastic, and accommodates leather movements without cracking. With natural leather or open-pored aniline leather, the colour penetrates the fibres unevenly and stains the leather — here, Leather Fresh (Toyota) as a care variant or special aniline lines are used. Suede, velour, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Toyota), which preserves the rough fibre structure instead of sticking it down.
If colour accuracy to the original factory colour is crucial and the component needs extensive restoration, Leather Colour is the right choice. If only a small area (steering wheel abrasion, single crack) needs repair, Fluid Leather (Toyota) in the 20 ml tube is more economical and precise. If the leather only appears slightly faded, Leather Fresh as a care variant is usually sufficient.
Leather Colour (Toyota) is the professional choice for detailers, independent workshops, and ambitious owners who prioritize value retention and original Toyota colour accuracy over quick care solutions.
For lease returns, used car detailing, and classic and youngtimer restorations, OEM colour accuracy determines value retention and selling price. The professional 4-step workflow (clean, sand, colour, seal) takes 4 hours including drying per component and delivers a result that lasts 2–3 years like new from the factory. One litre of Leather Colour costs about 30 cents per 100 ml of treated area — workshop calculation including Top Coat is around 12 Euros per component.
For pure care routines without workshop tools, Leather Colour is overkill — Leather Fresh (Toyota) is sufficient there. For spot repairs on the steering wheel or individual cracks, Fluid Leather or the Leather Care Sets (Toyota) are more economical. However, anyone who wants to restore entire seat bolsters, steering wheels, or door panels and values original Toyota colour accuracy cannot do without the 1-litre bottle or the 250 ml container.
Jade, Ignition Red, Black, Grey
COLOURLOCK Leather Colour (Toyota) is a water-based, elastic standard leather dye in original Toyota shades. It is used for repairing, refreshing, or recoloring pigmented smooth leather in vehicle interiors — seats, steering wheels, armrests, door panels.
First, thoroughly clean and degrease the leather. Fill and sand any damage with filler. Then, dab, wipe, or spray on thin layers of Leather Colour — 2-3 thin coats are better than one thick one. After complete drying, seal with Top Coat (Dull/Glossy/High Gloss).
Leather Colour is the professional repair dye (1L/250ml, can be sealed with Top Coat). Leather Fresh is the conditioning color cream (1L/100ml) for lighter touch-ups without extensive preparation. For deep abrasion → Leather Colour; for dull surfaces → Leather Fresh.
The color shades are based on original Toyota factory color samples. For heavily faded leather, we still recommend a color test in an inconspicuous area, as the original leather darkens or fades over the years.
Three classics: (1) Leather not degreased beforehand — paint does not adhere. (2) Too thick a layer applied — cracks during drying. (3) Top Coat sealant omitted — abrasion resistance less than 6 months. With proper preparation, the result lasts 2-3 years.
Yes, for lasting abrasion resistance. Without Top Coat, the color on seat bolsters and steering wheels will wear off again within a few weeks. Top Coat Dull = matte-original (OEM look), Glossy = medium shine, High Gloss = high shine.
Care instructions for Leather Colour (Toyota):
Leather Colour (Toyota) is exclusively suitable for pigmented smooth leather—the standard in modern automotive applications. Natural leather, aniline leather, and suede react differently and require different COLOURLOCK product lines.
The water-based formulation bonds with the pigment layer of modern automotive leathers, remains elastic, and accommodates leather movements without cracking. On natural leather or open-pored aniline leather, the color absorbs unevenly into the fibers, staining the leather blotchy—here, Leather Fresh (Toyota) as a care variant or special aniline lines are used. Suede, velour, and Alcantara are treated with Nubuk Fresh (Toyota), which preserves the rough fiber structure instead of gluing it.
