  • SOLO pump sprayers: an even spray mist, cleanly separated chemistry – for detailing with no “overspray chaos”

Which SOLO pump sprayer is right for you? Pick 1.25/2/5 L by surface area and handling, choose A (FKM, pH 1–7) or B (EPDM, pH 7–14) to match your cleaner – and you get a consistently adjustable spray pattern for repeatable results.

SOLO pump sprayers are the quiet heroes of detailing: they turn “spraying somehow” into controlled, even application – whether it’s pre-treatment, an APC job, interior work, wheel-barrel detailing or simply anywhere you need clean coverage with no drip drama. In this sub-category you’ll find only the SOLO CLEANLine pump sprayers 303 A/B (1.25 litres), 304 A/B (2 litres) and 305 A/B (5 litres).

    • A consistent spray pattern thanks to an adjustable nozzle. For the CLEANLine, SOLO describes an adjustable universal nozzle that delivers a more balanced jet and spray pattern and dials in more precisely to the job at hand – perfect for anything from “fine” to “a heavy wetting”.
    • The A/B system for chemical compatibility. FKM (A) for acidic media and EPDM (B) for basic/alkaline use in the pH 7–14 window – this logic stops you buying the wrong one and keeps performance going long-term.
    • Volume to match your workflow. 1.25 L for pinpoint work, 2 L as the all-rounder, 5 L when you’re prioritising surface area and process speed – without refilling every five minutes.

CLEANLine spray technology and an adjustable nozzle for a controlled spray pattern

CLEANLine is SOLO’s name for sprayers that don’t feel “like a garden sprayer” but like a proper tool: you set your output, hit the panel cleanly and automatically cut down overspray, runs and wasted product. It all rests on a nozzle you can adjust from a finer spray pattern right up to a heavier wetting – and SOLO explicitly highlights a new/adjustable universal nozzle that gives a more balanced jet and spray pattern and dials in more precisely to the job.

Day-to-day in detailing, that “adjustability” is more than a comfort feature: on interiors you often want controlled, fine coverage (e.g. onto a microfibre cloth or a brush) so you don’t flood every crevice. For pre-treatment or large-area cleaning you want even, quick coverage without the product running straight off in fat drops. You only get that range when the spray pattern and pressure stay stable – and that’s exactly where a pump sprayer proves itself as a process tool.

Using the FKM EPDM A B marking and pH 1-7 7-14 the right way

A/B isn’t a cosmetic model variant for SOLO, it’s a clear chemistry signal. SOLO sets out the split so that units marked “B” are meant for bases/alcohols in the pH 7–14 range, while “A” covers the acidic side; on top of that the seal materials (EPDM vs. FKM) are matched accordingly. That matters in detailing, because we rarely run “just one cleaner”: APC, pre-cleaners, dedicated surface cleaners – they can all be chemically very different.

What that means day-to-day: if you run typical alkaline cleaners, pre-treatments or lots of alcohol-based work, you go for the B version (EPDM). For acidic media or special jobs down in the low pH range, the A version (FKM) is the right call. For the 305 B, SOLO describes the EPDM seal and the pH 7–14 range, for instance, and for the 305 A the FKM seals and the pH 1–7 range – exactly the logic you want to get “right” the moment you buy.

And yes: with pump sprayers too, the unglamorous pro move applies – rinse it out after use. Not because we want to be dramatic, but because residue affects nozzles, valves and sealing faces, and over time your spray pattern can “drift off”. And what you want is repeatable results – every time.

    Choosing the SOLO 303 A B 304 A B 305 A B by volume and application

303 A/B (1.25 litres) is, for many, the “precision glove” among pump sprayers: light, quick, ideal for spot jobs and anywhere you’d rather mix fresh more often than leave big batches standing.

304 A/B (2 litres) is the all-rounder for detailers: enough volume to work at a good pace, yet still handy enough that you’re happy to keep it in hand while you work the car. Here too we keep the A/B split clear (304 B pH 7–14, 304 A pH 1–7). If you often combine pre-treatment + contact wash, 2 litres is often exactly the sweet spot where you’re not constantly refilling but can still stay fresh and clean.

305 A/B (5 litres) is the pick when surface area and process speed are what count – or when you’re working in a setup where “mix once, then push through” is the goal. For the 305 A/B, SOLO describes the rugged build, the base stand and the clear pH suitability depending on the version (A: 1–7, B: 7–14).
